Social Impact Assessment (SIA)
What is Social Impact Assessment?
Social Impact Assessment (SIA) is a systematic process to identify, predict, and evaluate the social consequences of proposed projects, programmes, and policies. PTT’s SIA services are conducted by certified consultants registered with the Malaysian Association of Social Impact Assessment (MSIA) and accredited by PLANMalaysia and JAS.
Our SIA process follows internationally recognised frameworks adapted for the Malaysian context, covering urban development, highway infrastructure, government programmes, and community resettlement.
-
Stakeholder Engagement
We conduct Public Opinion Surveys (POS) and community consultations to capture the voices of affected populations and integrate their concerns into project planning.
-
Impact Identification & Analysis
Our team analyses potential impacts on demographics, livelihoods, cultural heritage, community health, and social infrastructure to provide a holistic picture.
-
Mitigation & Monitoring Plans
We develop evidence-based mitigation strategies and monitoring frameworks to manage adverse social impacts throughout the project lifecycle.
